Chris Hughton has signed a new contract with Brighton & Hove Albion to keep the manager at the Premier League club until 2021, the Seagulls have confirmed.
The south coast club finished 15th in their debut Premier League campaign this past season – avoiding relegation by seven points under the former-Newcastle United manager.
Hughton took charge of the club back in 2014 when they were down in 21st in the Championship.
The 59-year-old has also had spells in charge of Birmingham City and Norwich City and is well-respected by pundits and fans alike.
Chris Hughton has created a hardworking team down at the AMEX Stadium that proved too difficult for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to breakdown at the start of the month when they held the champions to a 0-0 draw at the Etihad Stadium.
Just days before they pulled off a 1-0 victory at home to Manchester United which confirmed their Premier League status with a couple of games to go despite being among many people’s favourites to be relegated first time round at the start of the season.
