Pep Guardiola extends Man City contract

Pep Guardiola has extended his contract with 2017-18 Premier League champions Manchester City to keep him at the club until 2021.

The former-Barcelona manager led the Citizens to a record 100 points this past season among other records.

Guardiola received criticism from several journalists during his first season in charge at the Etihad after finishing third in the Premier League.  However, he bounced back this past season by dominating the English top flight and essentially having the league wrapped up as early as November.

Manchester City set several Premier League records this past season under the Spanish manager which included winning the title by 19 points over rivals Manchester United.

The 106 goals scored and 32 wins from 38 games were further records set by Guardiola and his team.

Pep Guardiola has previously managed Barcelona and Bayern Munich, and should he see out his latest deal with Manchester City it would be his longest tenure at a single club.
