Match report: Bournemouth 1-0 Man Utd

Bournemouth handed Manchester United their fourth defeat of the 2019-20 Premier League season as Josh King scored the only goal in windy conditions at the Vitality Stadium.

The Cherries had entered the Saturday lunchtime kickoff without scoring since September and were a minute shy of going six hours without a Premier League goal until the Norwegian forward’s strike in the final minute of the first half.

King was able to juggle the ball around the six-yard box before volleying home from close range as the United defence backed off. Bizarrely, right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka was closest to the former Manchester United youth, despite the ball being close to the left post of David de Gea’s goal.

Ole Gunnar Solkjaer’s side had looked positive in the opening 15 minutes, with Daniel James notably getting a lot of space down the right wing. However, the only chance the Welsh forward created was for Andreas Pereira, but the Brazilian midfielder produced an air shot from 15 yards out.

Aaron Ramsdale had a quiet afternoon in the Bournemouth goal on his way to a third consecutive clean sheet.
